Hot, hot, hot

"a hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house i lived in, or the kind of car i drove...but the world may be different because i was important in the life of a child."

bryan and faith began the day with a water fight on the trampoline.  it's hot, hot, hot here today!

can you guess who won?

charlie and faith put together a new puzzle!  a horsie one with purple flowers, of course!

brookie and i got our TOES painted.  my are purple, at the request of bryan.  hers are, well, a rainbow!  would you expect anything less from her?
and yes, that's bryan at the nat's bball stadium!  he was blessed to go with a good friend of ours, JD.  he had a blast!  see that jersey?  he came home saying, "look mom, i got a willie's jersey!"  charlie told him the "W" actually stood for "washington":)  he loves it!

how do i know?  it has chocolate ice cream or something spilled on it and he keeps asking me how the washing machine works so he can wash it:)  yep.  that takes my breath away.

j.d., bryan's a tough nut to crack, but i think you got him today.  thanks for sharing your time and your heart with him.  he will remember it for a lifetime.

Memorial Day Tri

"so whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God".  -1 corinthians 10:31

this is brookie's first triathalon.  look at her. so focused.  she's got her game face on.

brooke coming out of the water.  she had a great swim!

bryan coming out of the water.  he had the fastest swim split of the day!

brooke in transition getting ready to bike.  love her sweet little body here.  :)

bryan getting ready for the bike.  watch out!

brookie on the run.  a moment that takes my breath away.  again.  and.   again.

bryan racing to the finish line.  did you notice his feet aren't even touching the ground?

a hug from a good friend

bryan back out on the course running his friend to the finish line

brookie took 2nd in her age group.  look at that smile.  i'm so proud of you sweetie!  You're beautiful, from the inside-out.

bryan won the entire thing.  he started and ended in first place.  bryan, your body is a gift from God.  honor Him with it and He will bless you.

as i wrap up this post, the kids are busying setting up their "beds" for our weekly "sleeper-party" as faith calls it, in our room.  it's a contest who can stay awake the longest.  brooke and i always loose.  faith usually pee's on our floor.  and again, i am blessed with moments that take my breath away.

Moments that Take My Breath Away

charlie began this blog several years ago.  i will continue with it now.  it will eventually have a new header.  "life's not the breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away".

i am blessed with so many of those moments each day.  i want to remember them.  i want my kids to remember them.  and i want to share them.

so grandma and pop-pop, nana and granddad, all of our aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, this is for you.  special moments in our ordinary, everyday lifes.  i hope they bless you and make you smile.  but most of all, i am doing this for you, my precious babies.  may you look back on these days and remember how dearly you are loved and how incredibly great our God is.

"the heavens declare the glory of God; the skies ploclaim the work of His hands."  -psalm 19:1
